Bedtime Stories

TITLE: Bedtime Stories
SYNOPSIS: Adam Sandler plays a man who's father used to own a hotel. When he was younger, Sandler had hopes that one day, he would run the hotel. Unfortunately, that never happened. Sandler is just a maitenance man. Then, one day, his sister calls telling him that she's going out of town for a few days. She asks him to watch her two kids while she is gone. However, Sandler's sister is a principal and won't let her kids watch TV, eat junk food, or do anything even remotely fun. So, Sandler puts some fun into their lives. And each night, he tells the kids a bedtime story, but the kids add in most of the good parts. Then, the next day, the things from the story that the kids added in actually happens to Sandler. So, does this mean that he will get to date his boss' hot daughter? To find out, you'll have to watch...
FAVORITE QUOTE: *It starts raining gumballs*
MY THOUGHTS: This movie was a lot more of a kids movie than I expected it to be. The main reason being was that it features Adam Sandler as the main character. If you've ever seen any of Sandler's movies, you know that they are not appropriate for children. However, I like the way he toned it down. Yes, there is still some adult orientated humor, but it's not as extreme as it is in his other movies. Sandler did a very good job. In fact, all of the cast did. Also, this film parodies so many other films. I can't even begin to list them all. And, I don't want to, as it would spoil too much of the movie for you. However, I will say this, for you sci-fi fans, be on the lookout for a Star Wars parody. Oh, and for anyone and everyone who goes to see the movie, look for a bit of a twist in the plot. I can garuntee you'll get a few laughs out of this movie.

Four Christmases

TITLE: Four Christmases
SYNOPSIS: Brad (Vince Vaughn) and Kate (Reese Witherspoon) have been a couple for three years, but they haven't even met each other's parents. And, with luck, they hope they won't have to any time soon. However, when their flight is cancelled, they'll have to find a way to get to all four houses in one day. Along the way, they have some good laughs, as they watch each other handle their family's disfunctions, and they just might learn a thing or two about themselves. The movie also features Robert Duvall, Sissy Spacek, and Tim McGraw as just a few of the members of Brad and Kate's families.
FAVORITE QUOTE: *Baby barfs on Kate*
BRAD (Laughing): Oh! Gett away from me! I can't sit next to you! I'm about to do it, too!
MY THOUGHTS: This movie is a good way to start off the holiday season. Sure, some people who see it are going to think it's stupid. And you know what? They're absolutely right. It is stupid. But that's why it's so funny. You need to have a movie that gives you a good laugh. And this movie does just that. There's not real depth to the plot, and there's no moral to the story. It's just one of those movies taht you watch to have a few good laughs. Personally, I thought it was a great movie. Reese Witherspoon and Vince Vaughn were great in it. As were Sissy Spacek and Tim McGraw. All together, if you want a few good laughs to start off your holiday season, this film will give it to you!
MY RATING: 3 and 1/2 Train Whistles

Twilight

TITLE: Twilight
SYNOPSIS: 17-year-old Bella Swan moves from sunny Phoenix, Arizona to rainy Forks, Washington to live with her father. On her first day there, she has to deal with being the new girl in school. Then, she meets the mysterious Edward Cullen, and instantly falls in love. However, Edward isn't quite human. He's a vampire. The film stars Kristen Stewart as Bella. As well as Robert Pattinson (who played Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter) as Edward. With Cam Gigandet as James the Hunter, who ends up almost killing Bella.
FAVORITE QUOTE: Edward: And so the lion fell in love with the lamb
Bella: What a stupid lamb.
Edward: What a sick, masochistic lion.
MY THOUGHTS: Most critics didn't like this movie. However, as most critics didn't like it, I knew I was going to love it. It was an amazing movie. Bella and Edward were great! It was fantastic! My only real complaint is that Edward didn't sparkle when he was in the sunlight, which is something he was supposed to do. However, aside from taht one minor falw, the movie was fantastic! Most people who go and see the movie, who have already read the books, will love it. However, keep in mind that they can't show everything from teh book in the movie, so don't be too disappointed if a few scenes from the book are left out. Twilight is a wonderful movie and I look forward to buying it on DVD and seeing the rest of the Twilight Movie Saga, when they come out.
MY RATING: 4 & 1/2 Train Whistles
